The Australian Facetors’ Guild’s biennial International Faceting Challenge is generally considered to be the Olympics of faceting. The stone designs for the International Faceting Challenge are selected with one primary goal in mind – to test a cutter’s faceting skills to the utmost.
A precursor to the International Faceting Challenge is the Australian Facetors’ Guild’s annual competition. Stone designs for this annual competition cover a broader range of difficulty, ranging from novice to intermediate to open.
Since the Australians approach faceting competitions with an attitude of presenting faceters with extreme faceting challenges, these designs should be available for cutting by our readers. To this end, this web page will present as many of the Australian competition designs as can be collected and as time and space permit.
