I have an old RS machine that just quit. The problem is in the circuit board. I had two rectifiers and the condenser replaced that didn’t test out. We retested all the components and they all appear to be good. I am told that we can’t go further unless we have a circuit board diagram. HELP !!! does anyone know where I can get a diagram. I can’t get any return from the number listed for the manufacture. Wester Gem appears to be a dealer, but I don’t have a phone number or email address to ask them about it.

i had gotten water in my machine and did in the circuit brd. i also had a weak bad motor after running it for 48 yrs. i contacted rick scott the owner and ordered a new motor and control brd. although pricey, a bit, was quite worth it and machine is still knocking them out. he also gives you the info for the connections of newer board. you can contact me if you please i can give you the contact info i have for rick. gemmakermz@cs.com. i also make dops and other thing for the raytech including an adapter to replace the little quill collar with one for using regular short standard dops,1/4″, and don’t have to use the long ones.

Glad that Ray responded to you. My motor controller was $48, but he never responded to me so I went another route. Glad you are making dops

i need to add more info for raytech users. when i said week motor some of the early machines had brass bushings instead of bearings as bearings. the brass wears till the shaft can move out of alignment and it will start failing. another thing, i have a friend club member whom has a raytech and it quit working, he would turn the control up but would only run if he hand spun the lap to get it started. i removed the bottom to check the belt– ok — but then i opened the brush caps and checked the brushes, they were shot/ completely worn out. i have ordered brushes from rick scott so it, machine should be back up and running soon. if anyone is using a raytech and have been for a long time it would be good to check out the motor brushes before it causes problems.

I believe Rick Scott will respond if you buy replacement items from him. I have information on the motor controller and motor if anyone wants to explore a separate route.

Does anyone know if there are brass dops to use with the Raytech? I would like to try using wax to dop stones but doing that with aluminum is very challenging.

I have been trying to get parts for my Raytech since the end of April including a new arbor assembly, brushes, and fresh dops, but Rick has not really responded to me.

If you can join facebook, there are a few groups there that could maybe help you out.
I know there is a guy who makes dops for different machines. There might be a group for raytech shaw machines.

I finally got ahold of Rick and got my dop sticks. Expensive and Rick is very difficult to get a response from. I also found Larry Wood who helps Rick deal the lap machines. Even though I got the added dops, I still wanted to make some that don’t do what the standards ones do. I found 1/4 inch brass rods and also 1/16″ steel rods for the alignment pin. The threads on the one end are 1/4-26 NF and the pin is 3 3/16 from threaded end. Also you have to file the 1/4 inch rod down to 6mm to fit into the dop holder. So I am making my own out of brass and aluminum. I also used some flat brass plate to make the v holders and also some bigger diameter flats. I used silver solder to mount the brass to the rods. Works like a champ and cheaper than 15.50 each purchase price.
