The original design, “Beginner Barion Oval”, has a unique mismatch at the spot you have all mentioned. The original cutting order as found on the Gemology Project had cutters do the mains, then the barion facets, then the girdle. By doing the design in this order, it circumvented the problem.
For the competition, we tweaked the position of that girdle facet to avoid the problem, so that cutters would be able to do mains-girdle-barions OR mains-barions-girdle. However, it looks like particular version of the .GEM file that got uploaded to the USFG site didn’t have that tweak.
We’re working on fixing it now.
