As far as I know Ultra-tec does do repairs on their machines. Having a machine shop background the bearing is bad on the machine. Any automotive or other machine shop will be able to replace the bearing for you if you remove the assembly which is easy to do for a much cheaper price then Ultra-tec would charge. From experience the bearing on the older Utra-tec’s is not sealed. The machine depends on the platen rotating to sling the water off. If the platen is not turning with the water on the water will make it’s way to the bearing and ruin it.
