    Hi,

Does anyone know how a person would go about creating a design on the crown or pavilion such as Don Clark did with his Butterfly Cut (here: https://www.gemsociety.org/article/butterfly-cut/) ? I’ve seen other designs as well. Is there some way in GemCad to easily come up with new designs like this or is it through actual cutting and trial and error?

    Thanks,
    Andrea

    Hi Andrea,

Its not too difficult to do if you understand Gemcad and go for a relatively simple design. It can be all done on Gemcad and simulated in Gemray to get it close to the outcome your after.

Thank you Kim. I haven’t used GemRay before, so maybe that’s what I’m missing. I’ll look into that.

    Thanks
    Andrea
