I just purchased 50 12mm x .5 inch at 1.00 each… minimum purchase for this technical company and with shipping + tax it totaled to 1.50 each. I faceted my first on using the portuguese cut and was very pleased. No air bubbles and absolute perfect clarity. In hindsight I paid a premium for these but I will most likely never run out and being they are 12mm there is almost no waste.
Actually, that’s a pretty good price for quartz. If my calculations are right, that’s less than 5 cents per carat. Synthetic quartz generally goes for 10 cents plus or minus.
Seems like pretty high shipping cost, though.
It’s good to know the price was not absorbante. The shipping and handling was high although the package came with great packing. 🙂 5 pcs. to a plastic bag and each bag wrapped in bubble wrap and then packed in plastic peanuts and clearly marked on the carton (Fragile)
