Would anyone here happen to know of anyone who heat treats sapphires? I found the service at Gem Mountain, but I wanted to know if there are any other places. Or has anyone done it themselves? Also, was it worth it? I have 74 carats of light/pastel colored stuff from Montanna and thought it might be nice to have it treated. I attached a photo of the rough. Not too exciting as is.

This reply is probably too late but sapphire gallery in Philipsburg MT also does heat treating. I’ve had stones treated at gem mountain and at sapphire gallery and definitely prefer the results at sapphire gallery

i know a lot of people like to enhance or change color of stones but thats not the way mother nature made them. to me their natural color counts. and yes i have seen some clear stones with the silken shine in them that was not intense enough to produce a star that have been heat treated and in some cases the silk kind of vanished making them more suitable faceted stones.
