› Forums › Faceting Machines › Jarvi Tool (Facetron) still active?
For context: I ordered a full Facetron kit back in May knowing there was a backlog that’d keep my machine from shipping until July. In August I got a message that Mr. Jarvi himself had a medical situation that’d kept him out of the shop for four weeks, so I should expect a delay – no problem, health always comes first, I’m in no rush. Those four weeks stretched on into four months, and I haven’t been able to get ahold of anyone at Jarvi Tool by phone or email since mid-October.
Does anyone know if something more serious happened? I haven’t bought anything like this from a small company before, but having them drop off the radar after I’ve put down (what is to me anyways) serious cash, has me pretty stressed out. I’ve been told the whole faceting community isn’t great at timely communication, patient folks that we are, but I suppose I’m looking for some reassurance that I’m not totally out of luck.
Hi,
They’re generally pretty reliable from my experience and they are known to be trustworthy. I got a transfer jig from them a few years ago. Have you been able to call them at their regular business hours? What about trying their Facebook page?

Carmina,
I’ve only heard good things about them in the past, I suppose that’s why I’m worried something may have happened. I have tried calling during business hours a handful of times including today, not getting an answer though. I didn’t realize they had a Facebook page! It looks like the last time it was updated was mid-October 2018, but I can message them there as well.
I have a hard time getting through to them but I just last week managed and they had finished my retrofit and shipped my head. Still active but slower than normal on the phone and returning calls.
Good to hear they are still in business. They make one of the best faceting machines, if not the best.
Thomas,
Glad to hear they’re still active as recently as last week! I think that means they’re just bogged down in a real back-log of orders. Not much to do now but be patient until mine makes it to the front of the queue.
Update: I got an email from Jarvi yesterday evening, they confirmed that my machine is shipping out some time next week!
Nice Christmas present to yourself. Glad you heard from them.
It is good news that they are still in business. It would be a shame if they quit making such a fine machine at a decent price. You will not be disappointed in the quality of work Mr Jarvi builds into his machine. It is my understanding that Jeff Jarvi has had health problems the last few months.
