A little over a week ago I had the opportunity to meet a fellow USFG member who lives not too far from where my home is located. It was really nice to be able to talk faceting with someone who has a clue. Ideally we would like to find a few others to join us for an occasional get together.

The key to our meeting was the member profile — filling in the city, state and other location information. It appears that many of the over 600 current USFG members have not filled in their profile.

A search for “California” currently returns ten members. I know there are more. Also, please spell out your state (or equivalent if not in the USA). Unfortunately abbreviations like “CA” are useless for searching as there is no way to limit that to only the state field.

Meanwhile, if you are in the California central coast area and interested in meeting with other faceters, let us hear from you.

Well, over half a year has gone by. The membership number says that there are now over 700 of us. But there is still no way to find out where most of you are located.

Searching for “California” now comes up with 16 members. I know there are several others who live in this state who have not filled in their location or other information that would help other USFG members in your neighborhood find you.

Come on folks. There has to be a lot more of you that would enjoy meeting up will fellow members to talk faceting, share problems and show off success.

    Hear, Hear!

I’m in Alabama, within shouting distance of Georgia and Florida. Must be someone within a hundred miles.
