Funny thing, while I was writing the below forum message, I received a confirmation e-mail from Mr. Maxwell. If anyone out there has the same question, it would be post marked by June 20th.

Just to confirm:
The deadline states to be June 20th. My question is would that be the post marked date or have the stone delivered to the address by that day?
I know I should have finished by now but after cutting a difficult stone for my girlfriend, it intrigued me to get another competition stone for this year and I started late. I sure hope the deadline is the post mark date because I’ll need this weekend to finish. 🙂

You beat me to it! Post marked by June 20th.

First year I single stone competition, what’s the turn around time from the time the stone handler gets the stone how long does it take to get it back and when are the final results posted
In good years, the stones are returned and results announced by mid September. This has not been a good year. There were numerous stones postmarked on 6/20/16 that still have not reached the stone handler. So all of the judges do not yet have their stones.
The judges have several weeks to get their results in and then these must be mailed back to the stone handler with the stones. Then the results must be presented to the board of directors for approval. Once the results are approved, they will be posted. The stone handler will mail the stones and judging sheets back to participants. Awards and certificates are mailed from a different location so may be received at a later time.
Updates will be posted to this thread when they are available.

Most of the stones have been mailed out (two overseas contestants have been notified by email that there were problems). Included with your stone are three pages: the judging sheet, the score card, and the judges comments.
The results have been tabulated and sent to the board for approval. They will be posted in the September newsletter as is tradition. Certificates and medals are mailed from a different location and at a later date as medals need to be engraved and certificates signed.
