Earlier today, someone registered on the website and immediately posted a spam message. It’s gone, and so is the spammer. I’d like everyone to be aware that we look at the public profile for every new registration. Most spammers are obvious, since the registration is done by not-so-intelligent bot programs. Those are blocked immediately. Sometimes it’s questionable, as in the one this morning, where the public profile was entirely blank. Those will get an email asking politely for more information, and we’ll take it from there (usually there’s no response from a spammer).
If anyone gets spam from someone who appears to be a user of this website, please report it to firstname.lastname@example.org .
