What is the most efficient way to organize and store small rough gemstones and faceted stones during a large production run? I am looking for a cost-effective, stackable solution to keep different grits and stone batches separated on my workbench.

A really efficient way is to use small labeled containers (like gem jars or zip bags) and then store them in a divided box or drawer organizer. Keeping stones separated by type or hardness helps prevent scratches, and labeling everything saves a lot of time later.

@dordleFor a large production run, the most efficient and cost-effective setup I’ve seen is using stackable compartment trays or bead organizers with adjustable dividers, paired with clearly labeled small zip bags for each batch. You can sort by grit and stone type in individual compartments, then keep the trays in a simple plastic drawer system or stacking storage box so everything stays contained but still easy to grab quickly. A lot of people also color-code labels (or use numbered bins that match a log sheet) so you don’t have to rethink sorting every time. It’s not fancy, but it keeps workflow smooth and prevents mix-ups when things get busy.
